REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree or higher in psychology/social work, special education, or behavior analysis.
 
Experience working with students who have autism spectrum disorder, emotional behavior disorder, and severe behavior problems.
 
Specified training in ethics, assessments, applied behavior analysis, appropriate interventions for specified populations, crisis intervention training, special education, and strategies for working with families and outside agencies.
 
Experience and working with students with diverse backgrounds and students presenting with behavior and mental health issues in working with students.
 
Ability to provide immediate support and expertise to the building when a student presents with severe behavioral challenges; effectively communicate with the team serving the child; serve the district as a trained specialist in behavior intervention and professional development involving behavior; take initiative to resolve student behavioral issues; collaborate with the district mental health team; analyze concerns and create a plan of action; demonstrate professionalism and confidentiality; provide training and hands-on modeling for teachers, administrators and parents related to student needs.
